NVIDIA to Launch GeForce 9 Series in February
NVIDIA is ready for its next-generation GPU launch. According to sources at graphics card makers, the company plans to launch its GeForce 9 series GPU in February 2008. The first chip to roll out in the GeForce 9 family will be the D9E, a high-end product that adopts 65nm manufacturing. The new product will also support DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1. In addition to the D9E, NVIDIA will release a mid-range GeForce 9 family 55nm GPU named D9P in June 2008.

This helps to decrease the noise level and also conserve power.)
The card wil come with 2 Dual link DVI and one HDMI port. It supports PCI Express 2.0 and Open GL 2.1.
The 9800GX2 requires to oeprate with a PCI Express or PCI Express 2.0 mainboard with one dual width x16 graphics card. There must be a 8 and 6 pin supplementary pci express power connectors. The minimum power requirement to operate the card is 580W with a minimum of 40A on it's 12V line.
The product will be officially announced on 11 March 2008.

Geforce 9800 GTX in EU for €276.50
Affordable reference clocks
Nvidia's 9800 GTX was listed at Geizhals.at, at least for a short time. We managed to get a screenshot of the price but the actual listing was pulled off.
In the meantime we did manage to pull out the specs and the price, and this €276,50 card will work at 675MHz core speed, 1100MHz memory and 1688MHz Shaders clock.
As mentioned, Geforce 9800GTX will have 512MB of GDDR3 memory working at 1100MHz with 256-bit memory interface. It supports 3-way SLI, DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0. According to the latest info, this card has been pushed from the original launch date, 25th of March to the first day of April.
We just hope that this isn't an April's fools joke. Here is the screenshot taken from Geizhals.at.

XFX Unveiled GeForce 9800 GTX
http://resources.vr-zone.com//newspics/Apr08/01/XFX_9800GTX.jpg
Some days you need full power, and some days you don’t. Thankfully, the new XFX NVIDIA® GeForce® 9800 GTX manages gamers’ unique performance needs with exceptional power management.
Featuring HybridPower™ technology, the 9800 GTX manages expectations in a way unheard of in previous cards, allowing users with a HybridPower™ compatible motherboard to power down their GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card when running less graphically intense applications. The result: a silent, low power PC experience.
The 9800 GTX is the most powerful single chipset GeForce card available today, delivering all-out gaming performance at extreme HD resolutions. Triple the smack down power by running three 9800 GTX graphics cards in 3-way SLI® mode on one of the new XFX nForce® 780i SLI or 790i Ultra SLI motherboards for a ramp up of to 2.8 times the performance of a single GPU. Call it XXX GTX gaming, if you will.
Designed for PCI Express 2.0 featured in nForce 7 series motherboards, the 9800 GTX offers the highest data transfer speeds, enabling it to accommodate today’s bandwidth hungry games and 3D applications. Hardware Decode Acceleration provides ultra-smooth playback of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and SD movies. Dual-stream Hardware Acceleration supports picture-in-picture content and Dynamic Contrast Enhancement & Color Stretch ensures post-processing and optimization of High Definition movies on scene-by-scene basis with spectacular picture quality. HDMI™ capability allows users to send both high-definition video and audio signals to their HDTVs via a single cable.
Best of all, XFX’s GeForce® 9800 GTX graphics cards come with XFX’s LiveHelp support. To learn more about the XFX NVIDIA GeForce® 9800 GTX graphics card, or to locate a participating e-tailer, go to www.xfxforce.com.

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Reaches EOL in Three Months?
This information from Expreview may dissapoing many GeForce 9800 GX2 owners if true. NVIDIA is about to EOL (end-of-life) the GeForce 9800 GX2 line-up in just three months, as a result of two new GT200 cards - the single GPU GeForce 9900GTX and the dual GPU GeForce 9900 GX2. One of the GT200 cards will have similar performance and production cost as the GeForce 9800 GX2, which will force the manufacturer to cut down the "older" card. There will be no rebranding for 9800 GX2, like the GeForce 8800 GS which will become 9600 GSO, but just a sudden death. Meanwhile, details of the new GT200 graphics are still unknown.

GeForce 9800 GX2 Cards Get New GPUs
Nvidia is planning to add a new G92-451 GPU to the existing GeForce 9800 GX2 cards based on G92-450 GPUs. However, the transition is almost invisible as it is pin to pin compatible and interchangeable with the existing GPUs without the need to update BIOS or drivers. The reason for change is due to improved manufacturing yields and ensuring continuity of NVTTM production supply. We are speculating G92-451 might be 55nm based for better yield, lower cost and power.
